Tint

Consultation & Film Selection

  • Client consultation:
    • Desired appearance (5 – 50%)
    • Film options (carbon or ceramic)
    • Legal limits based on local laws

Vehicle Preparation

  • Inspect windows: Check for chips, scratches or defects.
  • Remove obstructions (if needed):
    • Interior panels, seals, third brake light
  • Thorough cleaning:
    • Remove dirt and contamination from exterior and interior glass surfaces (tint is applied on the inside of the window).

Film Preparation

  • Cut film:
    • Manually (hand-cut) or template (plotter).
  • Heat shrinking:
    • Use a heat gun and hard card/squeegee to shrink and contour the film to match the window curve.

Film Application (Installation)

  • Spray application solution:
    • A mixture of slip solution is sprayed on the inside of the window to allow repositioning and smooth application of the film.
  • Install film on inside of window:
    • Squeegee out water and air from behind the film.
  • Edge trimming:
    • Final trim and seal around the edges with precision blades.

Final Touches

  • Post-heating (where applicable):
    • Use heat gun to dry and set the film, minimizing water bubbles and lock-in the shape of the glass.
  • Final edge work:
    • Check corners for lift or gaps.

Curing & Aftercare Instructions

  • Client instructions:
    • Don’t roll down windows for 3–5 days. Bubbles & haziness are normal during this period.
    • Avoid cleaning with ammonia-based cleaners (use a microfiber towels and tint safe glass cleaner).
